Times Square retail rents decrease due to the increase in online shopping. Landlords look to introducing more interactive stores (food & entertainment) to bring in more revenue to their store fronts.
Interactive elements such as the National Geographic ocean exhibit and the NFL football exhibit, set to open in 2017, will forever change Times Square retail experience. Experiential businesses generate more sales than conventional retailers. Some people believe food and entertainment matter most and they create a place for locals and tourists alike.
